What does it mean that the image is labeled "Actual Disc"?
What does it mean that the image is labeled "Actual Disc"?
The "Actual Disc" mark indicates that it is our own image of the exact disc you will receive. There will therefore be NO variation in color shades or stamp.
All discs marked "Actual Disc" are also weighed by us with precision scales. Since manufacturers often have a larger margin of error on the scale, you may experience receiving a product that is marked with a different weight.
We group discs that have identical colour, stamp and weight together, so you may find that there is more than 1 in stock of a disc marked "Actual Disc".
What weight should I choose?
What weight should I choose?
Short answer: Is there a difference of a couple of grams between the different variants? Then it doesn't matter much.
Long answer: In general, a lighter disc is often easier to throw for beginners, but is more affected by wind and can be perceived as less reliable. Furthermore, a lighter disc will "skip" forward less when it hits the ground. Experiment with different weights to discover the differences.
If you buy a disc under 170g, it is considered a "lightweight disc". It can be beneficial to experiment with lighter weights, especially for beginners and players who struggle to get up to speed on the disc.
The Challenger OS is a more overstable, flat-topped version of the popular Challenger. This putter works best for driving, throwing into headwinds, weaving forehand approaches, and tossing hyzer putts. It is overstable enough to meet a majority of a player's needs without becoming a meat hook.

Straight throws

Z is Discraft's most durable and durable plastic, which means that the disc retains its flying properties for a very long time. It is harder and slightly more overstable than ESP. Big Z is almost identical to Z, but is slightly softer and less transparent.

This has been my putting putter for over a year now. (RHBH) I've done the circuit like everyone else trying to find another putter that fit me better but I always ended up coming back to this. I own it in 3 different plastic types and use them as throwing and putting to keep some consistency in feel. ESP being the most stable of them all. Depending on the conditions I have them also in the putter blend and Jawbreaker. I do not enjoy a bead on my putters so this one has the exact feel I was looking for. I would say the putter blend and jawbreaker are a bit less stable than the numbers suggest but enough for a consistent fade on edge of circle putts. Love this thing. (Nivå på anmelder: Nybegynner)
This is another great putter from Discraft. It's got a flight very similar to the roach. It also has a decent glide to it. The Jawbreaker plastic probably has the least glide and the most gummy flight plate. If you have bigger hands and want something a little deeper than roach, or you want a disc with less low speed fade than the Luna, this is your disc. (Nivå på anmelder: Middels)
I'm reviewing this purely as a putting putter rather than a throwing disc. The TL:DR is that if you like putting with a challenger, you should think about this disc. For me the biggest difference was the glide - and that's what improved my putting game. I am a spush putter and with my challenger I have a tendency to yank it right on longer putts just trying to get the power right. Because the SS has a bit more glide, you don't have to put as much on it for longer putts and jump putts so I find it a lot easier to hit my intended line with this disc. It flies like a judge but has the feel in the hand of a challenger. For me, that's pretty much perfect. I will point out that this disc is basically beadless while a normal challenger has a microbead. I don't notice the difference anymore but it took some getting used to. Currently I have this disc in Pro-D, I will be getting one in jawbreaker plastic whenever they are back in stock. (Nivå på anmelder: Middels)
I love the Challenger SS. This disc is my go to putter if I need a straight shot from 150 feet and in. All you have to do is put this disc on the tiniest of hyzer, and it will flip up straight and finish straight. I would highly recommend this disc for everybody. (Nivå på anmelder: Middels)
I tried a challenger (normal) for a few weeks and really enjoyed its push putt line but seemed to hit the front edge of the basket. Adding a little power made my putt inconsistent. I was torn. My beat up wizards were perfect but I was running out and didn't want to beat in another set. I tried out the Challenger SS and immediately made up those precious few inches without changing my form. Right out of the box this disc does it for me. I use the standard challenger for slight headwinds and the SS for workhorse putting. Discraft has become my putter of choice. Zone, Challenger, Challenger SS. What a thing of beauty. Now, replace my Westside Maiden! (Nivå på anmelder: Viderekommen)
