What does it mean that the image is labeled "Actual Disc"?

The "Actual Disc" mark indicates that it is our own image of the exact disc you will receive. There will therefore be NO variation in color shades or stamp.

All discs marked "Actual Disc" are also weighed by us with precision scales. Since manufacturers often have a larger margin of error on the scale, you may experience receiving a product that is marked with a different weight.

We group discs that have identical colour, stamp and weight together, so you may find that there is more than 1 in stock of a disc marked "Actual Disc".

What weight should I choose?

Short answer: Is there a difference of a couple of grams between the different variants? Then it doesn't matter much.

Long answer: In general, a lighter disc is often easier to throw for beginners, but is more affected by wind and can be perceived as less reliable. Furthermore, a lighter disc will "skip" forward less when it hits the ground. Experiment with different weights to discover the differences.

If you buy a disc under 170g, it is considered a "lightweight disc". It can be beneficial to experiment with lighter weights, especially for beginners and players who struggle to get up to speed on the disc.

When you're first on the tee and the wind hits your face, you need something you can trust. The Pioneer is an overstable fairway driver made for reliability and consistency. It has a flat top which makes it a great choice for sidearms. With a good amount of speed and a strong fade it is a versatile tool in any bag.

Started playing disc golf with a flat top firebird from around 2012. Strictly threw forehand since I was too stubborn to try learn backhand. After unfortunately losing that firebird, I decided to try to be "different" and throw a firebird clone from another company. Greatest decision I've made. The Opto Pioneer feels great in my hand. I bag a flat top one that has been beaten into a straight flyer that I can even turn over for some throws. I throw a newer Opto Pioneer for my forehands since I can always trust it'll come out of any angle I put it on. This disc absolutely handles headwinds with ease on a backhand throw too. Grab yourself a pioneer, you won't regret it. (Nivå på anmelder: Middels)

I'm about a year in to the sport, and I found this in a river, called the number and the guy said "I can't throw it for ****", so you can keep it.  I said thanks!  Started throwing it on a backhand and it would just bomb out/hyzer immediately, so I didn't use it until this year I was messing around and trying to learn a forehand.  used this disc a few times and wow. It's my go to forehand, I torque the bejesus outta this thing and it just flips up rides a ways and then hyzers out.  Love the flat top of it, cuts through head winds well, and is a stellar forehand disc in my bag. All the reviews you've read about this being overstable are true. I have a champion Firebird and it flies very similarly, but doesn't fade quite as hard. It has a very flat top and I've found it to be very useful on shorter shots that I need to curve twice before reaching the green. I felt like the plastic out of the factory was a lot less grippy than after it got beat in a little more. I still rarely pull this out of the bag, because it's more situational for me, but when I need it it does the job. Definitely not a disc I pull out when looking for distance as it has very low glide, but it can fight wind. If a Firebird is 4 fade then this one should be slightly less than that.
